Qwen Medical Prompt Guard
A PEFT LoRA adapter for detecting prompt-injection attacks in medical-assistant prompts.
Labels
0: SAFE1: PROMPT_INJECTION
Model Details
- Base model:
Qwen/Qwen2.5-7B-Instruct - Fine-tuning method: LoRA with PEFT
- Task: Binary text classification
- Maximum sequence length: 512 tokens
- Precision: bfloat16
- Classification head: 2 classes
Only the LoRA adapter and classification head were fine-tuned. The complete base model was not fully fine-tuned.
Training Hardware
Training was performed locally on an HP ZGX Nano workstation.
- GPU: NVIDIA GB10
- Available GPU memory: approximately 121.6 GB
- PyTorch: 2.14.0
- CUDA: 13.0
- Python: 3.12
Training Data
The model was trained using:
deepset/prompt-injections- Additional newly created medical-domain safe and attack examples
The original test set and project demonstration prompts were kept separate from training.
Results
Original Test Set
| Metric | Score |
|---|---|
| Accuracy | 0.9569 |
| Precision | 1.0000 |
| Recall | 0.9167 |
| F1 Score | 0.9565 |
| ROC-AUC | 0.9952 |
Medical Evaluation Set
The medical evaluation set contained 14 prompts: 6 safe prompts and 8 attack prompts.
| Metric | Score |
|---|---|
| Accuracy | 1.0000 |
| Precision | 1.0000 |
| Recall | 1.0000 |
| F1 Score | 1.0000 |
| ROC-AUC | 1.0000 |
The medical evaluation set is small and should not be considered a complete production evaluation.
Decision Policy
- Attack probability
<= 0.10:ALLOW - Attack probability
>= 0.90:BLOCK - Between these values:
ESCALATE_TO_CLOUD
PHI and other sensitive information must be redacted before sending an escalated prompt to a cloud service.

Limitations
This model is a prompt-injection classifier, not a medical diagnosis model. It does not perform PHI detection or redaction. Additional testing is required before production deployment.
