New Gemma chat template update by Google
Hey guys Google updated their official chat template for the Gemma models a few days ago and have asked all providers to update their quants / implementations etc.
So these new uploads are just using the new chat template edits by Google. This should make tool-calling more stable.
hello, im sorry if this is a silly question but why are the new quants larger than the previous ones? did anything else change besides the chat template?
still with $\rightarrow$
I'm actually quite hesitant to try updates like these, I'm afraid llama.cpp->Claude code will regress? Since google its focus is shifting to their own tools?
This new template crashes in GitHub Copilot inside vs code insiders.
Sorry, your request failed. Please try again.
Copilot Request id: xxxx
Reason: {"message":"Error rendering prompt with jinja template: "Cannot call something that is not a function: got UndefinedValue".\n\nThis is usually an issue with the model's prompt template. If you are using a popular model, you can try to search the model under lmstudio-community, which will have fixed prompt templates. If you cannot find one, you are welcome to post this issue to our discord or issue tracker on GitHub.
Any news with some of the solutions out there?
Another chat template update just dropped, and I saw you updated the nvfp4 repo right away. Would you update the gguf quants anytime soon?
